Eoghan McDermott opens up about Christmas attack and asks people to be 'more humane' in 2017

Eoghan McDermott has pleaded with people to be "more humane and decent" to one another in 2017 after he was attacked on a night out.

The 2fm star opened up for the first time about the assault, which happened as he walked alone in search of a taxi on St Stephen's night after spending time with friends in Clondalkin, Dublin.

Eoghan revealed he was rushed to hospital after he was knocked unconscious by strangers.

The RTE presenter was diagnosed with a bad concussion after having a brain scan to rule out more serious injuries.

He said: "I was out in Clondalkin on Stephen's night.

I socialise there regularly and I was over seeing friends and family, I've never had any problems.
